About
The short version: I'm a web developer in Richmond, VA, and I think everyone in this city deserves a good website.
Why River City Web Co
The name is pretty literal. Richmond is the River City, built along the James, shaped by its neighborhoods, and powered by the people and organizations that make it what it is.
River City Web Co exists because I believe the nonprofits, community groups, and small businesses that make Richmond work shouldn't be stuck with bad websites, or no website at all. A good web presence isn't a luxury. It's how people find you, trust you, and connect with what you do.
I've been building websites for a long time. I've worked on projects of all sizes, from quick single-page sites to complex web applications. What I keep coming back to is the work that feels most direct: helping real people and organizations get something built that actually serves them.
How I work
I build with clean, modern tools, no bloated page builders, no unnecessary complexity. The sites I create are fast, accessible, and easy to maintain. I write real code, which means your site isn't locked into a platform or dependent on a dozen plugins to function.
I'm direct. I'll tell you what I think, give you honest timelines, and keep things simple. No jargon, no runaround. If something doesn't make sense for your situation, I'll say so.
For nonprofits and community organizations, I offer pro bono and pay-what-you-can work. For small businesses, I charge fair, transparent rates. Either way, you get the same quality and attention.
The person behind it
I'm Michael. I live in Richmond. I care about this city and the people in it. When I'm not building websites, you can probably find me somewhere along the river.
If you've got a project in mind, or even just a question, let's talk.
